DINO MELAYE: PROPOSED FUEL SUBSIDY PROTEST WILL FAIL – OLULADE

The Lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II Hon Segun Olulade has said the proposed mass protest threatened by Senator Dino Melaye against President Muhammadu Buhari over removal of fuel subsidy to pave way for deregulation of the oil sector will fail utterly.

Olulade said Melaye’s threat holds no water and cannot be taken seriously by any right thinking person. He said Dino Melaye is used to such game and lacks morality to take Nigerians to the street in protest except the few political jobbers like him.

The Epe II Lawmaker who praised NUPENG and PENGASSAN for showing understanding and supports for the policy also called the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to dialogue with the government rather than marching innocent workers out for a protest that can earn them no tangible outcome.

Olulade in his statement said he shared the pains of Nigerians and labour force but opined that there is nothing reasonably viable than to deregulate the sector and save Nigerians the incessant and persistent agony of accessing petroleum products which are God given resources to the Nigerian masses.

“Among all the oil exporting countries, Nigeria is the only country that still lives in the euphoria of oil sector regulation and as such, denying the nation of economic benefits accruable from the sector. From availability of the products to job creation and to huge oil sales revenue, the hardship is temporary and I am sure Nigerians will smile in no distant future”, Olulade said.
Olulade then commended Nigerians for accepting the policy in utmost good faith and patience. He said such understanding for the government is inevitable at this period. The outspoken Lawmaker said the patience and cooperation of the masses assures him further that Nigerians are such enduring people who deserve nothing but the best from their government, assuring that the Muhammadu Buhari administration will not let the people down for their endurance, patience and cooperation.

Part of the statement also noted that Nigerians refused to be taken to the streets in protest of the increase in pump price of petroleum products because they trust the present government for its accountability and convinced the decision was in the nation’s best interest.

Olulade who blast Dino Melaye for his statement inciting masses to action against the Federal Government stated that Dino is wading through disgrace with his total political and moral calamities in view. He alleged that Dino’s anti-party stance is not a new thing.

“Dino is a political casino; he wants to gulp so much but emit little in deceit. He is also a political noise-maker who seeks relevance by raising voice over whatever does not go in his favour. He is free to decamp rather than acting up against the government of his party”, Olulade concluded.
